Please follow these guidelines when creating an ASCII resume for online or e-mail purposes:

  • Keep your resume simple.
  • Align all the text to the left of the page.
  • Don't use tabs, bolding and italicizing.
  • Use upper-case letters and line breaks to create headings.
  • Do not exceed 72 characters per line.
  • Save your resume as an ASCII text file through the "Save As" feature of your word processor.
